OOTD: Sunday Funday!

Sunday was absolutely glorious! And at the flat we went and brought a BBQ from Morrisons for 20 squid and lots of tasty stuff to eat and we were set (after we built BBQ haha).
Me looking suitably pained while making said BBQ
Absolutely banging burgers

Hope everyone is well in the land of blogging :)

OOTD: Dare To Bare (Legs!)

I actually had a mini party in my pants this morning when I saw how sunny it was and decided TODAY WAS THE DAY to get my legs out for the first time this year! I've seen a few other bloggers on their blogs and instagram daring to bare their legs in the last week or so but I wasn't brave enough until today and I'm so glad I have now. Wearing my black tights was making my wardrobe seem about 10 times more wintery than it is, so not wearing tights has given me so many more outfit ideas :)

Once I had stopped staring out of my window and thanking the sun gods,  I immediately started rifling through my wardrobe to find a suitable dress. I decided on my panther skater dress from Topshop because 1. I haven't worn it in ages and 2. I didn't want to scare the sun away by whacking out my most summery sun dress!

had to pair it all with my favourite mint pieces at the moment, I might have over-worn the cardigan already haha, but they matched the panther's eyes and I bloody love ankle socks, so it's allllll good.
Dress- Topshop £25ish?    Cardigan- Vintage £6    Socks- Topshop £3.50    Vans- American Outlet Store $25/£45    Scarf- Vintage £4
I also had my first iced coffee of the year, which was an absolute dream! And then feasted on strawberries sprinkled with icing sugar and a green tea. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself.
nomnomnom

Has anyone else been as excited as me to bare their legs for the first time this year?
(please someone say yes!)

OOTD: Spring Chick Vs. Grunge Goth

Just a quick little post for you guys showing you how I styled my most recent purchases, which you can read about in this post here. I really wanted to wear some colour because spring was taking sooooooo long to come around. It seems to have arrived now and I like to think this outfit had something do with that ;)

I also enjoy how cute my spring colours are on top and how grungy and dark my bottom half is, I just love my creepers too much and when summer comes around they are too hot to wear so I'm getting as much out of them now as possible! I can't believe I've had them for 3 years either! Literally the best wearing pair of shoes I've owned, they look like I got them out of the box yesterday.

What do you think of my outfit mash up? Are you as insanely happy as me that spring has turned up FINALLY?!

Not Really Supposed To Be Shopping Mini-Spree

Yesterday I made a little trip down to a couple of nearby towns (Ware and Hertford if you're interested) to have a browse because I was going a little stir crazy sitting around at home.

I'm not realllllly supposed to buying anything at the moment due to lack of job (anyone out there feel like throwing one my way?! Seriously I don't think I can fill out any more applications without gouging my own eyes out), but decided only looking in the charity shops would be allowed, since you can never really spend too much in them, well unless you buy the whole shop.

First stop was Isabel Hospice my favourite charity shop in Ware, for some reason it always has the best pieces, like my Jaeger trouser from my last post. Anyway I found this perfect little signet ring, I realise none of my name has a 'D' in it but I couldn't just leave it there for a meagre £3. Also it was the only ring to fit my ridiculously small fingers and it's still too big to fit on my little finger so I have to settle for my ring finger, but it's all good.
Engraved Signet Ring-  Isabel Hospice £3

Recently opened in Ware is a Vintage Shop/Tea Room called Vintage Wares (clever) so I popped in there to see what I could spy, there were quite a few lovely things including a Topshop navy lace slip dress that I wanted to get my paws on but being £20 was slightly out of my budget, so I settled on a pastel mint cardigan I thought was perfect for spring.
Pastel Mint Green Cardy- Vintage Wares £6

Next I decided to drive over to the Matalan in Hertford. I get the impression from a lot of people that they really don't like Matalan because they think it's a bit rubbish and only for mumsy mums and old people, but I actually think it's pretty decent. I mean obviously there's the 'old person' parts to it but I usually always find something there I would wear and a lot of their jewellery is on par with Topshop or River Island styles and for a fraction of the price.

I've been searching for a statement necklace for a while now but the afore mention highstreet shops like Topshop's prices have put me off, with some of them reaching over £20-25 for basically a piece of costume jewellery! Anyway I found this beauty in Matalan for £10, it has everything I was looking for- gold and silver chains, pastel hues, spikes, sparkles and glitter. A killer piece I think you'll agree.

Definitely going to wear it under a shirt collar and with my new cardigan! Also picked up these stackable animal rings for £3 down from £7. I do love a good animal ring.
Stackable Animal Rings- £3 (down from £7)

Just one more photo to show you my collar/necklace detail from my outfit yesterday. The rest of my outfit wasn't super interesting just leggings and a wooly jumper, but god damn I love this shirt, it is so unnecessarily loud haha.
Shirt- Charity Shop in Nottingham £4    Necklace- Isabel Hospice £2.50

Anyone else had any charity/vintage shop finds recently?

OOTD: Nottingham Night Out

A couple weeks ago me and some friends went up to Nottingham to help celebrate one of their little sister's 20th birthday.

On the way up we stopped off at OK Diner on the A1 and I had the most amazing peanut butter and chocolate milkshake, it was insanely delicious. If you ever need a pitstop driving on the A1 then I highly recommend it.
While in Nottingham I did a tiny bit of shopping at local vintage/charity shop, where I got a quilted coat originally from River Island for £8!!! And the crazy 80's shirt I am wearing for £4.
It was a really fun night, including running around the club raging, lots of crazy dancing and general drunk antics! RL Grime was playing and was ridiculously good, hence the dancing (which hopefully burned off all the alcohol calories haha).

Shirt- Charity/Vintage Shop £4    CropTop- Sparkle & Fade £16    Shorts- Ragged Priest £20ish    Bag- Vintage £4   Creepers- Underground £89
My new friend ;)
Peter the cat who just seemed to like living at their house even though it didn't really live there!

Two posts in one week I must be having a very good week! I'll try to keep up the good work :P

Back With News!

Hello little bloggy-boos!

Sorry it's been so long since my last post- a whole week! But I have been a very busy bee, with lots of exciting things to share.

First of all it was my graduation last Wednesday which was really special (if a little stressful). I was in one of the morning ceremonies,  so I was up really early but it was worth it. Got to see all my course mates and say thank you to my favourite tutors. I'm just hoping my official graduation photos come out ok, I have a horrible feeling all my hair was tucked under my hat.

What I wore under my hugggge gown & hat.
Shirt & Skirt- Topshop    Shoes- H&M

Then the weekend just gone myself and my two besties decided to visit the other bestie, who lives up in Sheffield for the free Tramlines Festival. On Friday night we saw the amazing Aluna George at The Harley.
Top- Topshop    Shorts- Vintage Levis
On Saturday daytime we went to the Concourse Red Bull Stage and saw L-Vis 1990T. Williams and Julio Bashmore who were all equally brilliant.
Top- Primark, dip dyed myself    Shorts- Vintage Levis

L-Vis 1990
And on Saturday night we headed to The Yellow Arch Studios and pretty much danced till I thought my feet were going to fall off.

Sunday was a lazy day before we had to head home :( but we did manage to see a friend of a friend's boyfriend's (haha) band Summo at Tamper Coffee Bar. They are a great band and really lovely boys, I implore you to check them out.

Summo
I just added this photo cos I love it & love my friends. Look at how amazing they are!!
AND FINALLY! My last piece of news is that I have managed to get myself an internship at a company in London- YAY! I literally contacted them yesterday, had the interview today and got it! I start on Monday :) I am ridiculously excited. The company look uber cool and young, so pretty much perfect for me I think. I'll probably end up posting loads of 'work' outfits now, seeing as I won't be lazying around the house in my joggers, haha.

Anywho hope this update on my life has been interesting enough for you all! What have you all been up to in my week away?

Day Out: Spitalfields Affordable Vintage Fair

Saturday just gone myself, a bestie and her sister headed to London for the Spitalfields Affordable Vintage Fair which happens every 1st Saturday of the month. It's run by Judy's Vintage Fair who put on lots of different vintage fairs all over the country (check out their event list!).

The first good thing about the fair was that entry was free, unlike some other vintage fairs I have attended. So v. affordable in that respect! And secondly the stalls were incredibly varied; from some amazing vintage pieces and some more modern pieces that still fitted in with the overall theme of the fair.

There are some super delicious food stalls around the market too; a mishmash of traditional asian, american classics and coffee shops, among others! We decided to have lunch at The LUXE takeaway area and I had The LUXE Hotdog- hotdog, cheese, onions and relish. NOM!

Some of the goodies on sale:

I brought a new dress made by Snow Traffic (not a brand I've heard of before) in the most adorable zebra print that I can't wait to do an OOTD post on. And only £13!
Me with my new dress & Rachel (Thanks Han for the photo!)
I also picked up this adorable necklace for £10 from i am acrylic, who make all their own hand cut pieces!

The next vintage fair at Spitalfield is on the Saturday 4th August and it's an Olympic theme :)
Have any of you been to the fair? What do you think of my purchases?

P.S. And I was approached to be a hair model for the Sassoon Salon which was good cos I could do with a free haircut ;)

Happy Birthday To Me!

Last Monday it was my 23rd birthday (sobsob), to celebrate I went on 2 days/nights out over the weekend and then had a birthday lunch at mine on the Monday.

Friday:
Me and my friends went to the Bangface Summer Boat Party, the Bangface club nights are always pretty crazy and this was no exception and probably even better as we were travelling up and down the Thames on a boat! There was a fancy dress theme of olympics but me and my friends are too lazy for that kind of thing so just went in normal clothes! I have to warn you if you ever decide to go to Bangface- DO NOT WEAR HEELS! It is not that kind of club night, the DJs are crazy, for example my friend's favourite DJ is called ShitMat. I think that explains what kind of night it is and then kind of mental dancing that ensues.

Here is a terrible photo of what I wore (I got too pissed to remember to take a full body one):

Pictured-    Topshop Skeleton Print Crop Top    American Apparel Hoody
Not Pictured-    Vintage Denim Levis Shorts    Vans

I was also wearing these tights, which are AWESOME! And made a cool match with my top:

Here's another photo of me and the boyf:
Jon managed to lose his ID before this weekend so I had to carry around his birth certificate for him, which was just ridiculous/funny. (Also I learnt his mum was born in Scotland from it).

Saturday:
Gotten driven home from London- wooo, no train for me! Then sat around and ate pizza in the evening, to prepare for...

Sunday:
On Sunday we all went to Radio 1's Hackney Weekend- wheeey :D It was a great day and really well organised I thought, not much waiting around for artists to come on stage and stuff. While there I managed to see- Labrinth, Skream & Benga, Madeon (he looks about 12- it's scary!), Azealia Banks, Santigold, Sub Focus, Magnetic Man, Chase & Status, Plan B, Florence + the Machine, Rihanna and a tiny bit of Jessie J and Dizzee Rascal.
A very successful day for music and me I'd say!

Here's what I wore:
Sorry about the sun face!

Me, Florence and Cider!
Topshop T-shirt- wore over crop when I was chilly!

I love the co-ords trend so much and when I saw the trinket print I knew I had to get this outfit! Want more co-ords... Need more co-ords...

Monday:
I had an amazing birthday buffet lunch with all my friendys, and I had a birthday trifle instead of a cake- nomnom! Forgot to take a photo of it though :(

Finally here's a bunch of photos of some presents I got :)
Urban Decay Makeup Setting Spray    Urban Decay BrowBox
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion    Lush Sweet Lips Lip Scrub

Cute Little Tissue Box    Style Me Vintage Book
Independent London Guidebook and Map

Any Human Heart DVD

£25 Lush Giftcard :D

La Senza Jammies :)

Long Tshirt (talked about here)

Gorgeous Vintage Dressing Table Set!

Mickey Mouse Midi Dress (OOTD here)

Sorry this turned out to be a ridiculously long post about birthday-ness, don't worry there won't be another one till next year haha!

Hope all your Mondays haven't been too poop!
