Comfy Style- Gwynedds AW 2012

One of the things I love about the blogging community is the opportunity to discover new brands, stores and products I would have never come across before, either through my own blog or reading others. And last week was no exception as I was introduced to a great brand I probably wouldn't have come across on my own.

The brand Gwynedds originally from Germany has recently been launched in the UK and their collection of pre-washed, easy to wear casual separates has really caught my eye. They offer premium casual wear and luxury basics in a range of beaut colours that really make me want to have a lot more ‘dress down’ days!

What They Say:
“Born out a love of colour and stylish nonchalance, and launched in Germany in 2007, the luxury lifestyle brand Gwynedds has arrived in the UK just in time for Autumn Winter 2012.

Colourful, contemporary and minimalist, this ‘essential’ collection, in distinctly soft cotton, is a wardrobe’s must-have for lounging around, bracing the winter chill in style, going to Pilates and travelling in style.”

My favourite pieces have got to be:
Talmee The Parka

And these hoodies and joggers!

Pieces are totally interchangeable, giving you endless ways to wear them and because they are pre-washed they have that extra softness you usually only get after a few wears and washes. Gwynedds goes by the philosophy that fashion doesn't have to be complicated, which suits me down to a T, especially on those days when you have a fashion brain freeze!

I think Gwynedds is definitely a brand to watch and I can’t wait to get my hands on one of their super soft and comfy hoodies!
Make sure you have a look on their website too- www.gwynedds.com, it’s a really cute site, I love that little bird! Pieces are also available from www.misscouture.co.uk as well.

What do you guys think? Anything you would really want?

OOTD: Pastel Checks & Fur

This is what I wore last Saturday I think, so a bit late, but better late than never! And I really liked this outfit :D

I did a bit of charity shopping that Saturday and you can see the amazeball bag I got for £3!!! I also got a pair of Jaeger trousers (for £3 too!) that I'm hoping to feature in the blog soon, just need to work out how to style them!

On Saturday night I went and watched fireworks (v.late I know!) with my parents and my sister and her boyfriend, and then we went for indian and I ate wayyyyy too much haha! Tasty though.

Probably the best bag I have or will own & only £3!!!

Final parting shot ;)

So this blog was short and sweet wasn't it! Been super busy at work, with lots of changes going on, but good ones :) I'm off to a bar in London called the Moustache Bar on Saturday, so I should have a little 'going out' outfit for you guys :)

Hope you have all had great weeks. Any fun plans for the weekend?

Movember Movember!

Since it is the month of Movember I thought I'd decided to do a moustache themed post with all my favourite tache things I have found and lusted after!

I'm sure everyone already knows what Movember is about and the causes it supports so I'll just get straight into the goodies! But if you do want to know more: Click here for the official Movember page to donate etc.

I literally don't think I've seen a better mug. IT HAS SPACE FOR YOUR BISCUITS! Need I say more?!

2. Moustache Doormat- Next- £12
If this was on my doorstep, even the worst day at work would be cured just by wiping my muddy shoes on the mat. I imagine anyway :)

3. Moustache Phone Case- Ebay- £1.99
A total moustache bargin to show your support to the Movember cause, and I have a little giggle to myself every time I read it.

A t-shirt to showcase all the moustaches of the world! I love Tee & Cake clothes too, so comfy. My fave is Mexico!

Finally a classic moustache accessory. Always a winner and I think looks beaut in just gold.

Hope you liked the moustache themed post (I'm sure there are plenty other better ones out there!
Have you brought/worn anything tache themed for this month? Or do you just wear lip tickler things all year round?!

P.S. Here's one last crazy but AMAZING moustache themed piece that I really want! But alas I cannot justify the price.

OOTD: Fright Night!

I'm back, I'm back!
Sorry for being away for so long, I really don't have a good excuse except that I'm lazy! Also the lack of sun and dark mornings and evenings is making it near impossible for me to take half decent outfit photos, but I promise to try harder, ok? :)

I thought I would get this week off to a scary start by sharing my Halloween outfit from a party I went to at the weekend. Somehow I have managed to leave all of my fancy dress back at the flat in Northampton, so it was a bit of a rush job with my costume, but I think I did a good job considering I only spent £2.75 on some white face paint haha!

To be honest doing the makeup was really easy even though it wasn't perfect, all I brought was the white face paint from a local fancy dress shop and then used all my own makeup for the rest, e.g. black eyeliner, purple eyeliner, pink eyeshadow and pink lipstick! And luckily I had my skeleton top already so that was a simple choice for the outfit! So it was all really cheap :D

My very rushed and not practiced Sugar Skull makeup haha!

What I wore: Top- Truly Madly Deeply, Urban Outfitters    Skirt- Ebay    Tights- Henry Holland    Creepers- Underground

Me & Superwoman (Hannah)!

Me & a male nun (Sam)!
Lovely Ladies!
'Jimmy Saville' and nun haha!

Final one of me ;)
Hope you all had a great weekend, anyone else go to a Halloween party? What did you go as?

P.S. I've entered my budget outfit in MoneySupermarket's Homemade Halloween Competition, fingers crossed I might win! If you had a budget halloween costume this year deffo enter, there are some amazing prizes (like a PS3!!).

Melabella Blogger Event

Last Tuesday I was lucky enough to be invited to the Melabella blogger event, which showcased the amazing pieces Bella has developed and made for A/W 2012. This is her second Autumn Winter collection and has already been featured in Elle and Grazia among others!

The evening was lovely, talking to Bella was great and it's was really interesting to learn more about her designing process and how she develops her ideas into pieces on wonderful clothing! And I got to meet loads of other bloggers from the London area which was equally great since I haven't really met any other bloggers before haha!

Anyway I'll let the photos of the collection talk for itself (some photos are mine- the terrible ones! and some are from the press pack I was emailed after the evening).

Bella focuses on signature prints, flattering shapes and versatility that have the ability to become wardrobe staples. Bella's grandmother Thora played a key role in inspiring this collection, she explained her grandmother always had impeccable style and vintage 'look' can be seen in the flattering, beautifully made clothes.
The print I liked the most were the 'dalton dancers' which was inspired by a mysterious envelope dated back to 1955 which was full of charming silhouettes that had been sent to Thora from her sister.
Thanks to Melabella and Sticky Communications for putting on such a fun evening, I can't to see next years Spring Summer collection!
What do you guys think? Any bits you would like for your wardrobe?

OOTD: Big Night Out!

On Saturday it was one of my best friends Becca's 24th Birthday Night Out, we were all quite excited as every year for her birthday we always seem to end up going to one of our old pre-university haunts, and this year was no exception. The nearby town Hertford was our destination, when we were 18 we all used to head there on a Thursday night, have a wicked time and then have to go to school horribly hungover on Friday!

Now we are older we have upgraded to Saturday nights (over 21's only!) and it was nice to be out without lots of young'uns and there wasn't the chance an 18 year old might try and chat you up!

Here's what I wore:
Top- Next (old)    Bralet- Marks & Spencers (old)    Skirt- Ebay £11.99    Socks- Topshop £3.50    Creepers- Underground £89

We tied up my top into a crop top because tucked in it kept bulging out and annoying me so much, thanks to Hannah for helping me with this genius idea!

Standard going out makeup for me- Flicks on the eyelids, silver eyeliner around the corners and lashings of black mascara!
I used Collection 2000 Cream Puff Lip Colour on my lips, I love it so much. I swear I use it on every night out I go on. It just lasts so long and I have a tiny obsession with things looking matte haha!
The Birthday Girl and Me!

Becca The Birthday Girl, Me and Kay

We had a hilarious night and it was topped off by a trip to our old favourite kebab shop Mid-West for some dirty food!

Hope you all had fab weekends (and start to the week!)

OOTD: Galaxy Princess Cat!

What I wore to work on Thursday, v.casual since I was in a slobbish mode. I've had a stupid migraine for three days so I really didn't want to change out of my pjs so leggings and a massive t-shirt were the next best option!

Sorry for terrible photos, it was getting dark when I got home- booo winter. I'm actually wearing a cardy and jacket and a scarf when I go to work in the mornings now :( Which is kind of annoying when it warms up half way through the day and I have to carry it all home again on the sweaty tube and train!

Just so you can see the print a bit better....

This crazy galaxy princess cat is now one of my favourites. My friend posted it on my Facebook wall after seeing it on eBay and thinking of me. I don't actually thought I would buy it within 10 minutes on her posting it haha!
Amazeballs necklace from Tatty Divine I managed to swipe for £9.50 from £20 something! In the sale which has now sadly ended.

Also you might be able to see in the photos that my hair is a purple/pinky colour, which was kindly done for me by one of my best friends and her sister one day this week when we were bored! I used Directions hair dye (£3.75 a pot), which should last from 8-15 washes I think. It was a bit brighter by i really love the pastel-y shades. Butttt I do have a super bright turquoise that I am gearing myself up for!
Tonight is one of my best friend's birthday night out, so I'm pretty excited for that! Heading out to a town I don't think we have been out to for about 4 years?! Gunna be pretty special I think haha!

Btw are you loving or hating my galaxy princess kitty top?

A/W 2012 Lustlist

September is truly upon us now and it's about time I took my head out of the last summer clouds and resign myself to the fact that I can't be wearing denim cutoffs unless I'm wearing some wooly tights too- boohoo! To cheer myself up I have decided to compile a little wishlist of some goodies I wouldn't mind wearing this Autumn/Winter.
Love this pleather skirt too much and it's a steal! OK, OK... I might have already caved and brought this beauty but it was too much to resist and the little studs were just screaming 'BUY ME!"

2. Tatty Divine- £89
Tatty Divine always have masses of pieces I want every season but this Autumn I'm lusting over this Leopard Necklace, but at £89.00 it's a definite stay on the wishlist but I love it none-the-less.

3. Gloves- Topshop- £10    Chain Link Snood- Accessorize- £22    Pom Pom Beanie- ASOS with Piers Atkinsons- £13.50
Everything else on my list is a bit dark so I thought I'd brighten things up with some lush knitwear in some colours to remind us that summer does come back one day... They don't match but I don't care!
4. River Island- £30
I think these shoes might be a marmite situation with people, but I really like them. A great transition from summer boat shoes to winter fur lined boat booties! Not sure if I like them in brown or silver best...
Finally I couldn't leave putting on something from the Topshop and J.W. Anderson collaboration and this jumper jumped (harhar terrible pun!) out at me when I first saw the collection. Perfect for Halloween (or any other time for that matter).

Now I've finished this list I'm actually pretty excited about the cold (weirdo) and the layering of woollens and hats and scarves and gloves! So I guess my list did the trick of making me excited for winter (along with the prospect of Christmas!).

Goodbye short shorts and tiny croptops- see you in the Spring!

P.S. I really like this aztec shawl from Matalan, is it wrong? I don't know!? It is only a tenner...

What's in my bag?!

I see a lot of bloggers do this post and because I'm a nosy so-and-so they are usually one of my favourite posts to read! So I thought I'd better do one of my own bag, to try and make up for my own nosy nose-ness. Here we go!

This is my current work bag, though it does change every so often.

Diary    Pen    Mini notepaper    USB    Plasters    Paracetamol

Purse- Accessorize    Chewing Gum    Oyster card and train ticket holder- Paperchase    Tissues!    Primark Sunnies (in Topshop case haha)

Headphone (not sure where my iPod is!    Lip Balms- Boots & Figs & Rouge    Mirror    Nail Files- Ms. Manicure

So a pretty basic work bag really! Usually I have a few other make up bits and pieces thrown in and maybe a cereal bar/chocolate bar or two as well.

This week I am preparing for Bestival next weekend- SO EXCITED! My friends and I have booked a 15 man tipi in the boutique camping area (I refused to slum it in the regular camping I hate it that much!) We leave uber early Thursday morning and then get back Monday afternoon/evening. I absolutely loved Bestival last time, so I have high hopes for this year.
Expect lots of ridiculous photos on my return!

Hope you all have a lush week, let me know if any of you are heading Bestival way :D
